My curiosity about AI started with the release of GitHub Copilot in 2021. At that time, Copilot's ability to predict and write code was mind-blowing.
But it's even more mind-blowing to think that now it's pretty normal. And it's been only 3 and a half years. We're spoiled with so many AI tools.
Anyway, I didn't do much about my curiosity and didn't go past surface-level knowledge. Then ChatGPT came out in November 2022, and it blew everyone's mind once again. This time, it felt different because ChatGPT could do a lot more than just predict and write code. That's when I decided to take AI seriously and go deeper into the subject.
But I ran into the usual problem: where to start?
I bought courses and books, watched YouTube videos, and read articles. The amount of resources out there can make you feel overwhelmed. Besides that, you need to sift between the multitude of resources to find the high-quality ones.
Then, once you get into the practical stuff, you run into another problem: what platforms and applications to use for practice?
Another round of digging through the internet and wasting time to find the good ones. That only made me procrastinate. I spent more time bouncing between websites and resources than learning and practising my skills.
Public bookmarks
That's when I decided to solve this problem for myself and others by building a directory of AI resources.
Most people, including myself, save interesting stuff in their bookmarks and then forget about them forever. I was doing it, too, until a question popped up in my mind:
Why not share the resources with others? It could save them the trouble of scouring the internet for good resources.
So that's what I did.
Instead of sending the resources to the bookmarks graveyard, I built a static site with the resources I personally tried or intend to try. And, of course, it's also available for others to add their favourite tools and resources.
The above image shows an example of an AI tool from the website.
For now, it contains basic information such as a description, the available models and pricing. However, I plan to add much more information in the future.
That's all
It's not a revolutionary idea, but it's an example of applications and sites I build to scratch my itches.
I have a very simple process for deciding what apps to build:
I stopped trying to find the gold idea for an app.

Now, I simply build apps that help me.
Needed to stop procrastinating -> Built a browser extension to block websites.
Got frustrated with the platform for my course -> Built a new, simpler platform.
Wanted to collect good AI…
The stats for the directory 1 week after the launch are as follows:
- 20 pages indexed on Google
- 3 people contributed by adding resources
- 1 sponsor for a month (sponsorship amount mentioned below in the members-only section)
It's a solid start, but there's a lot of work left.
That's all for now. If you want to contribute, you can do so here.
