September 08, 2024 Update
On September 08, 2024, I decided to start the challenge of making $50,000 in 6 months. The motivation behind this challenge is that:
- Our apartment lease expires at the end of December 2024.
- We are expecting our baby girl around the same time.
That means we have to move from our current apartment.
Fortunately, we are in the process of building our own house, which is approximately 65% complete. With an additional $50,000, we believe we can make the house livable, even if it's not entirely finished.
Despite my initial hesitation, I decided to share this challenge on Twitter/X. To my surprise, the post received an overwhelmingly positive response from the community. At the time of writing, the post has 177.5K views (click on the image to see the post).
To reach the $50,000 goal within 6 months, I plan to do the following:
- Develop a SaaS product targeting content creators
- Complete and launch my technical writing course (currently 75% done)
- Get sponsorships on my YouTube channel
- Write paid technical articles
Offermentorship sessions- Include sponsors in this blog post
Let's give it a go and see if I manage to complete the challenge successfully. Here's how you can stay updated:

September 14, 2024 Update
Since the challenge started, I've managed to:
- Land a $700 technical writing gig
- Made a couple of sales for the technical writing course
At the moment, I'm 5.88% of the way towards my $50,000 goal.
Until next time!
October 08, 2024 Update
Long time no see.
Launching the technical writing course and all its associated tasks took up most of my time and energy.
That left me with little resources to pursue other venues, such as launching a new SaaS. It's still my goal and the next venture I want to pursue, but I'll take it slower. Having burnt out three times, I want to avoid getting burnt out the fourth time, which will set me back months, if not years.
The course sales and the technical writing gig add up to $4752, which is 9.5% of the $50,000 goal.
I also did a collaboration worth $500, which would take me to $5252, which is 10,5% of the $50,000 goal. However, I can't count it since I haven't received the payment yet.
Oh, and before closing off, I may have a sponsor for this challenge. Someone agreed to pay $750 monthly to display their logo at the top of this post. We haven't closed the deal yet, but it has a big chance of happening.
That's all for now! See you next time!
